Frequently Asked Questions
Are sessions in person or virtual?
All sessions are virtual only. I use Doxy, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that’s easy to access from your phone, computer, or tablet — no app download required. I’ll send you a link before your session and you can join from wherever you’re comfortable.
Who do you work with? Do you see clients outside Virginia?
I’ll be working with clients in Virginia when I open my practice in February 2027. I’m also working toward accepting clients in North Carolina where I’ve moved to. As the Social Work Licensure Compact comes into affect soon, I look forward to working with clients in all those 32 states. I’m not accepting new clients yet, but you’re welcome to join the waitlist — I’ll reach out when I’m ready to take on new clients.
How do I pay for sessions?
I accept all major credit and debit cards. Your card will be billed automatically after each session, or in the event of a late cancellation. Payment is handled securely through my billing system — you’ll never need to worry about sending checks or cash.
What can I expect in a first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and whether we feel like a good fit. There’s no pressure — it’s a conversation, not an intake form.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in our sessions is confidential. There are a few standard legal exceptions — such as if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others — which I’ll go over with you when we begin. Otherwise, what you share stays between us.
Are you currently accepting new clients?
Not yet — I’m planning to open my practice in February 2027. In the meantime, you can join my waitlist to be notified when I do, and follow along with my weekly blog in the meantime. Sign up at the top of the home page.
